Marblehead Students Honored At Bates, Hofstra, Miami, RIT, Tufts

These Marblehead students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinction.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — These Marblehead students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinction at colleges and universities across the nation.

Tufts University awarded approximately 1,500 undergraduate students degrees in disciplines ranging from the sciences and engineering to the humanities and fine arts during its online degree conferral ceremony commemorating the accomplishments of the Class of 2021.

The Marblehead graduates from the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Engineering included:

Kelsey Detels with a degree in Biomedical Engineering (BSBME) Summa Cum Laude.

Drew Gally with a degree in Economics (BA).

Olivia Halsted with a degree in Cognitive Brain Science (BS).

In addition to the degree conferral, the ceremony featured a keynote address by Bryan Stevenson, the acclaimed civil rights advocate and lawyer, who called on Tufts graduates to be the generation that creates "a new era of truth and justice."

Miami University awarded degrees to Marblehead students during spring commencement May 14-16.

Megan Ryan graduated with a B.S. in Business in Marketing.

Jake Gansenberg graduated with a B.A. in Architecture in Architecture.

Chris Parthum graduated with a B.S. in Business in Finance.

Ryan Sweeney graduated with a B.S. in Business in Finance.

Zachary Klemm was named to the Dean's List at Bates College for the winter semester ending in May 2021. This is a distinction earned by students whose grade point average is 3.88 or higher.

Klemm is a 2017 graduate of St. John's Preparatory School. He is majoring in English and minoring in Spanish at Bates.

The University of Hartford named Robert Burns to its Dean's List for spring 2021.

Elizabeth Tauro excelled at Hofstra University during the spring 2021 semester, achieving a GPA of at least 3.5 to earn a spot on the Dean's List.

Bryant University recognizes the students who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to academic excellence and achievement. Eli Merrill, class of 2021, has been named to the Deans' List for the spring 2021 semester.

Gettysburg College students whose semester averages were 3.6 or above were recently placed on the Dean's Honor List. Kevin Casey and Hannah Crowley were among the students who realized that achievement this spring.

Elana Aronson graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a BS in computational mathematics and an MS in applied and computational mathematics.

Some 4,000 degrees were conferred in the 2020-2021 academic year at all of RIT's campuses. Due to New York state COVID-19 occupancy restrictions, commencement was celebrated May 14-15 in smaller ceremonies by college and was live-streamed for graduates' families and friends.
