Marblehead Woman Draws Officers' Attention Smoking Marijuana at MBTA Station

A Marblehead woman chose a conspicuous location at which to smoke marijuana Friday, drawing the attention Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority police.

MBTA officers patroling at Park Street station Friday afternoon noticed Julie Hamburg, 39 of Marblehead, smoking what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette while standing near the station’s entrance, according to an MBTA statement.

The officers approached Hamburg and were able to confirm their suspicions as Hamburg “quickly discarded the marijuana and attempted to vacate the area.”

Officers then learned that Hamburg was wanted on an arrest warrant for larceny out of Lynn District Court and placed her in custody.
