Marblehead Youth Baseball Raffle to Support Injured High School Student

The raffle was announced during Marblehead Youth Baseball's opening day ceremonies on May 2.

Saturday, May 2 officially ushered in the summer sports season in Marblehead with Marblehead Youth Baseball’s opening day ceremonies.

It also ushered in the start of a raffle to support Ben Farrar, the Marblehead High School senior who was injured April 19 during a school trip in France. Farrar remains in a Nice, France, hospital with a spinal cord injury. His family is with him and awaiting the go-ahead to have Farrar transferred to Boston for continuing care.

The money raised in the raffle will go directly to the Farrar family to help cover the costs of his ongoing care.

Being raffled off are two pairs of State Street Pavillion tickets with field passes for batting practice to the July 5 Red Sox vs. Astros game. The tickets were donated by Greg Dombal courtesy of Halloran Consulting. One raffle ticket costs $10 and three tickets costs $20. Tickets can be purchased at the Shed and Gatchell’s Park.

Winners will be drawn later this season.
