Also: A way-too-slow phone book deliverer and a .38 caliber that is to be destroyed.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — The following is comprised of excerpts from Tuesday's Marblehead Police log
8:23 a.m. - A caller reported a white van with Vermont plates and tinted windows stopped on Village Street in the middle of the road. The vehicle didn't move when the caller beeped, and then it started driving up Byors Road at a slow pace. Police said the van was delivering phone books.
11:13 a.m. - A caller said there needs to be an officer in front of the Masonic Lodge for congested traffic. She said someone stopped to pick up a person and the car behind them laid on the horn and blew around them at 40 miles per hour, nearly striking a mother with a child in a carriage.
