Memorial Day Service and Parade Schedule Announced
Our "Five Things to Know Today" column provides essential daily information at a glance, including this year's schedule for Memorial Day observations.

1. Weather Watch: Isolated showers, then scattered showers and thunderstorms after 4 p.m. Patchy fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 73. South wind 6 to 8 mph becoming west in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
- Sunrise: 5:16 a.m.
- High tide I: 7:33 a.m.
- Low tide: 1:42 p.m.
- High tide II: 8:02 p.m.
- Sunset: 8:03 p.m.
2. Drain Project Meeting: As we noted on Friday, the Pleasant Street-Area Drain Project is set to begin this summer. Many local business owners are concerned about the project's impact on their bottom lines. Tonight, the Water & Sewer Board holds a public meeting about the project. 5:30 p.m. at 100 Tower Way, Building 11.
3. Memorial Day Observations: The town has posted information about this year's Memorial Day observations, including how to get U.S. flags for graves and information on this year's service and parade. The Memorial Day service will be held on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Star of the Sea Cemetery. And on Monday, May 27, the parade steps off from the Old Town House at 9 a.m., marching first to Memorial Park and ending at Waterside Cemetery.

4. Magicians in Action: Weather permitting, the following Marblehead High School squads will be in action at home today: Baseball versus Winthrop, boys tennis hosting Danvers and boys lacrosse against Salem Academy. Here are the details.
5. JCC Triathlon: Later this morning we'll be posting tons of photos from Sunday's Jewish Community Center Triathlon, which took place in Marblehead and Swampscott. Only nine seconds separated first and second place.
