MHS Football Loses To Hingham
On Saturday, the Magicians were dealt their second loss of the 2010 season as they fell 21-7 to the Hingham Harbormen.
The Marblehead Varsity football team came out strong on Saturday in Hingham, as they controlled the first half of play; but in the end the home team found its way to a 21-7 victory.
The Magicians jumped out on top of the Harbormen 7-0 in the games early goings, courtesy of a Will Quigley touchdown; a lead which they carried into halftime.
MHS head coach Jim Rudloff was please with his defensive line's ability to stop the run up the middle in the first half, singling out the play of Nick Broughton, Ben Koopman, and Jeff Peres for their efforts.

The long commute, which Rudloff described as "a 90 minute bus ride that seemed like it would never end," set in on the MHS boys as they entered the second half of play, as the offense seemed to lose its cohesion, the defense was unable to stop Hingham's outside attack.
"The kids are working very hard to come together as a team," said Rudloff. "Each week we have had to move our line-ups around because of injuries and we are still trying to find out who can play where and gel as units."

Rudloff lauded the play of the Harbormen and noted his team's need for improvement as they move forward.
"Hingham is a very good division 2A team. We will be moving to division 2A next year and we need to be able to beat this type of opponent if we expect to be a competitive program," he said.
The Magicians' next game is scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m., when they will face-off against the Patriots of Revere High School on Piper Field at Marblehead High.
