MHS Interact Club Raises $6,000
Members of the Marblehead High School Interact Club raised $6,000 for local and international humanitarian initiatives.

The Interact Club with the guidance of Marblehead Rotarians Jack Attridge and Jim Nye, raised $6,000 this past year for local and international humanitarian initiatives!
The Marblehead Rotary Club was pleased to host Molly Sweeney, (Co-President), Carly Robb (Secretary) and Paige Kelloway (Treasurer) of the MHS Interact Club on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at its weekly luncheon and hear that this past year the Interact Club raised $6,000 of which it donated $1,500 towards Polio Plus, a Rotary International program to eradicate polio worldwide. The remaining funds were donated to a number of charities including ALS, Camp Sunshine, Parkinsons, Trouble Foundation and others.

The MHS Interact Club is 30 students strong this year. It involves Freshmen to Seniors working with guidance from Joan Stomatuk, their Faculty Advisor,and with Jack Attridge of the Marblehead Rotary Club and Jim Nye of the Marblehead Harbor Club serving as their Rotary Advisors to raise funds for domestic and international community service and other humanitarian initiatives.
The Rotary Club of Marblehead engages in numerous ways with Marblehead's youth including its scholarship and campership programs, the Rotary Youth Exchange Program, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, Interact Club for high school students, Rotaract Club for college students, the annual Easter Egg Hunt, The Rubber Duck Regatta, and as seen most recently, Marblehead's Got Talent! In addition, the Club is launching this year Heads Up MHD ! to build collaborative efforts to support the Marblehead Housing Authority's "Helping Hands Program" and "Intergenerational Activities Program", MarbleheadCARES "Alcohol Poisoning Awareness Campaign", the Marblehead Council on Aging, "Community Garden" and the YMCA "High School Summer Opportunity Fair".
