MHS Spring Sports Wrap-Up

Here is a look back at Marblehead Patch's coverage of each of Marblehead High School's spring sports teams.

Once 2011 spring sports season came to a close, Marblehead Patch spent the last two weeks offering up recaps from each of the school's varsity sports teams.

: It was a great season for the girls' lacrosse program, which advanced to the state semifinals in head coach Annie Pugh's first season. Pugh, who was named the league's coach of the year, said she saw her team develop as the season progressed, eventually ending the regular season with a record of 13-4-1.

: Although they made an early exit from the state playoffs after losing 18-7 to 12th seeded Scituate, the Headers had a very successful regular season, finishing 11-7.

:Although they lost to 11th ranked Tewksbury in the first round of the state playoffs , the Headers had a very successful regular season, finishing 13-7.

: Marblehead High School's softball team fell to Tewksbury in the quarter finals of the state tournament and finished their season with a 12-10 record.

: The high school's girls' track team remained undefeated until they faced Swampscott on May 18. They, like the boys' team, truly had a season that exceeded expectations.

: This is a look back at the high school's NEC champion boys' track team. The boys had an excellent season this year, one their coach called a "statement year." With huge wins over Peabody and Swampscott, this will likely be one that the graduating seniors will never forget.

: After sailing to victory in Boston last month, the sailing team joined the school's skiing, swimming and hockey teams as this year's state champions.
