Mom Sends Young Drivers to Station after They Were Spotted Speeding

Friday, May 1

At 8:45 a.m., a business was blocking the sidewalk without a permit.

At 11:33 a.m., a student wallet was found.

At 5:15 p.m., a toy gun was found at the beach. It appeared to be an Airsoft rifle.

At 6:32 p.m., a gray BMW was reported to be driving 70 mph-plus near Foster Street and Harbor Avenue. Two teenage boys were in the vehicle. Police spoke with the mother, who said she would send the boys to the station to speak with an officer.

At 11:14 p.m., a motor vehicle stop resulted in a 30-year-old woman being placed in protective custody. The vehicle was towed and the woman was picked up by her sister the following morning.

Saturday, May 2

At 10:45 a.m., a person reported a taxes had been fraudulently filed in her name.

At 10:53 a.m., a woman called and complained of a truck spewing pollution. Police found it to be an insulation truck and the “pollution” was air pushing the insulation into a building. The complainant told police they were “trying to enjoy this day sitting on their deck and because of the truck spewing pollution, she feels like she’s in Newark.”

At 4:06 p.m., a caller reported a men’s bicycle had been taken from their front yard on Pond Street the night before.

Sunday, May 3

At 12:29 a.m., a man reported that he received a scam call from someone telling him he won $4 million, but would have to pay $400 to collect it.

At 3:37 p.m., authorities received a report of a 67-year-old man who had fallen off his bicycle and could have been having a medical issue. The patient refused hospital transport.
