Mugford Street Players Present: Alphabetical Order - An Award Winning Comedy Of Love And Chaos In The Pre-Digital Age

MUGFORD STREET PLAYERS PRESENTS ALPHABETICAL ORDER - AN AWARD-WINNING COMEDY OF LOVE AND CHAOS IN THE PRE-DIGITAL AGE. Marblehead, MA - Winner of the 1975 Evening Standard Award for Best Comedy after a long London run, Alphabetical Order unfolds in the cluttered library of a provincial British newspaper. The office chaos is mirrored by the lives of manager Lucy and her oddball associates…until Leslie - a crisp new hire with a passion for organization – arrives on the scene! Then the question becomes: Is a passion for organization anything like passion at all? At least, when chaos reigned they all got wet! Alphabetical Order – page 2 Playwright Frayn is best known as the author of the hugely popular farce Noises Off and the Tony Award-winning drama Copenhagen. His novels - such as Towards the End of the Morning, Headlong and Spies - have also been critical and commercial successes, making him one of the handful of writers in the English language to succeed in both drama and prose fiction. Produced and directed by John Fogle, Alphabetical Order features Alex Alexander, Kristine Burke, Brian Casey, Stephen Cooper, Julia Short, Bob Karish, and Mark O’Donald. Set design is by Bruce Greenwald, costume design by Linda Ross, set decoration by Jean Fogle, lighting design by Greg Mancusi-Ungaro and Anna Stenberg is the production stage manager. Director Fogle is the former Artistic Director of the Salem Theatre Company, where his most recent credits include A Delicate Balance, The Elephant Man and Shirley Valentine. He has has staged over 80 area productions. Shows under his direction have won the Best Production Award at the EMACT Drama Festival on three occasions and have twice been cited as One of the Year’s Ten Best by the Boston Phoenix. Alphabetical Order will have 13 performances at the Marblehead Little Theatre, 12 School Street in Marblehead, from April 2 – 19, Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $25 with discounts for Seniors and Students ($20) and are available online at www.mltlive.com.
