New Marblehead Brown Elementary School Opens Wednesday

With the Lucretia and Joseph Brown Elementary School set to open this week, drivers in the area are reminded to exercise caution.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — With the anxiously awaited Lucretia and Joseph Brown Elementary School set to open to students on Wednesday, drivers in the area are reminded to take caution amid the influx of students in the area at school start and end times.

"Please be mindful of additional students and vehicles in the area; be careful, have patience and use caution; respect the neighborhood and expect delays," town officials said.

Parents who intend to drive students to school are encouraged to take a test run through the area, those traveling near the school are advised to expect delays on school days. Parents should adhere to school pick-up and drop-off policies, stop for pedestrians and respect the nearby residents.

Drivers should also remember to adhere to all school bus safety policies, including allowing buses plenty of room and always stopping for a bus with its "stop" sign extended.
