New Marblehead Community Climate Action Chief Picked
Sustainable Marblehead said Elaine Leahy will be its next executive director beginning next week.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Elaine Leahy will be the new executive director of Sustainable Marblehead beginning on Monday.
Leahy, a Marblehead resident who has been active with the community climate action group for several years co-chairing the education and conservation working groups, replaces Louise Bullis Yarmoff. Yarmoff, who has held the top spot since August 2021, said she will remain on the Sustainable Marblehead Board of Directors.
Leahy is a marketing and communications professional with experience in the corporate and nonprofit sectors who most recently worked with Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish to found their Creation Care Team.

She has been active with the Marblehead Conservancy, SPUR and the Marblehead Little Theater while serving on the board of the Marblehead Festival of Arts.
Sustainable Marblehead is a community organization that works to educate and engage the town and its residents on reducing waste and pollution as well as achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2040 so that "our town and planet are habitable and safe for future generations."
