Niche Ranks Marblehead High School Among Best In MA
Marblehead High School was ranked No. 38 across public high schools in the state in the latest rankings.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Marblehead High School ranked No. 38 among all public high schools in Massachusetts in the education platform Niche’s 2023 Best Schools and Districts rankings released this week.
Marblehead High No. 38 among 363 state public high schools overall and third out of 34 high schools in Essex County.
"I am always proud when the excellence of our district and our phenomenal educators are recognized and validated," Marblehead Superintendent John Buckey told Patch on Wednesday. "We have worked hard to attend to the whole student coming out of the pandemic in terms of balancing academic achievement with social emotional learning.

"We have worked hard to better align our curricula with the standards and we have invested in assessment systems to gauge where our students are. We use the data to inform our instructional practices to ensure every student is getting what they need. Our exceptional leadership team has worked with their respective faculty and staff to maximize learning and growth opportunities."

Niche ranked 92,743 public schools and 30,112 private schools in the 2023 report. The platform said its rankings were created to provide families with valuable information — both quantitative and qualitative — on schools in their area or in a neighborhood they're not familiar with yet.

The rankings differ from others that rely almost exclusively on test scores and academic performance in that it also includes input from students, alumni and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources and facilities.
