No Sniffles Allowed In Marblehead Schools This Year

Amid the coronavirus health crisis, parents are being told to keep children home even with mild cold or flu symptoms.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Marblehead parents are being told to keep students home rather than send them out with a pack of Kleenex this year.

Amid the coronavirus health crisis, parents were given a checklist to go through each day as classes are expected to shift from remote learning to a hybrid in-person model over the next few weeks.

The list includes taking a student's temperature each morning and keeping them home if it registers at 100 degrees or above, not sending them to school if they have taken any fever-reducing medication within the previous six hours and not sending them to schools with any of the following symptoms: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, headache, fatigue (when in combination with other symptoms), body or muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of taste or smell.
