North Shore Jewish Film Festival Returns To Marblehead, Salem For 2026

The 13th annual festival will bring international films, matinees and special events to Marblehead and Salem starting April 23.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — The Jewish Community Center of the North Shore will present its 2026 International Jewish Film Festival from April 23 through May 14, with screenings and special events planned in Marblehead and Salem.

The 13th annual festival will feature international documentaries, narrative films and community programming centered on Jewish life, history, resilience and identity.

"The JCCNS Film Festival continues to be a cornerstone cultural event for our community," said JFF Committee Chairperson Michelle Myerson. "This year's lineup brings together extraordinary films that educate, inspire, and spark meaningful conversation. We hope to see you at the theater."

Opening night will feature "Charles Grodin: Rebel With a Cause." Other films on the schedule include "Holding Liat" on April 27, the Night of Shorts program on April 29, "Once Upon My Mother" on May 2 and "Rosenthal: The Great Showman" on May 4.

Additional screenings include "Rebound" on May 3, "Matchmaking 2" on May 6, "The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue" on May 8, "Frontier" on May 11 and "Tell Me Everything" on May 12.

The festival will close on May 14 with "We Met at Grossinger's." A free community screening of the Jewish Journal's original documentary "Hostage" is also scheduled for May 5 at the JCCNS.

Select films will be shown as Monday matinees at 1 p.m. at Warwick Cinema in Marblehead. Evening screenings, additional matinees, and special events will take place at Cinema Salem.

JCCNS said the festival remains focused on storytelling and dialogue through cinema. The organization described the event as a way to bring the North Shore community together through shared cultural experiences.

The Jewish Community Center of the North Shore describes itself as a hub for cultural, educational and community programming. Through events including its annual film festival, the organization said it works to foster connection, dialogue and a deeper appreciation of Jewish culture and global perspectives.
