'Once Upon a Mattress' at MVMS
Marblehead Veterans Middle School students will be performing 'Once Upon a Mattress' next month.

is proud to present Once Upon a Mattress, a musical comedy with music by Mary Rodgers, lyrics by Marshall Barer and book by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller and Marshall Barer.
The play was written as an adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale The Princess and the Pea.If you thought you knew the story of The Princess and The Pea, you may be in for a walloping surprise with our version!

Did you know, for instance, that Princess Winifred actually swam the moat to reach Prince Dauntless the Drab? Or that it may not have been the pea at all that caused the princess a sleepless night?
Carried on a wave of charming songs, by turns hilarious and raucous, romantic and melodic, this rollicking spring on the familiar classic of royal courtship and payback provides for some side-splitting mischief.

Chances are you'll never look at fairy tales quite the same again. A musical for all ages, Once Upon a Mattress sets the stage for a great family night out.
Doors will open on Saturday at 6:15 p.m. for a princess and a tea, "a great opportunity to share a treat and meet some of the ladies and knights of the kingdom."

Directed by Tammy Picone Nohelty with Musical Direction by Francesca Simmone, and Choreography by Amy Masterangelo, Once Upon A Mattress will be performed Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 6 at 2 p.m. at the Auditorium.
