Over "booked"?

For those of us love books - parting can be such sweet sorrow!

However...not only are the snow piles making me claustrophobic - so are my book cases. I LOVE books - but sometimes (like the snow storms this winter) enough is enough and I have to clear some space.

Here are 5 questions that can help decide what books are clutter and what books bring us joy:

· Will I ever read this?

· Will I read it again?

· Will I need to refer back to this?

· Am I still passionately interested in the subject?

· Will anyone else I know want to read it?

(if your answer is maybe, someday - is it really worth the upkeep of keeping it clean and the use of valuable real estate to store it on your shelf?)

On average, only 24 books are produced for every tree felled. Here are 5 easy ways to spread the love by passing our unwanted books on to other people.

1. Throw a book swap party.

2. Donate your books to the library.

3. Take them to your local charity, thrift or goodwill shop.

4. Donate on Freecycle.

5. Set your books free - leave your books on a train seat or a coffee shop for a new reader to find! There’s a fun way to track your books using BookCrossing.

or try selling them on Powells.
