This donation was made by Gordon and crew in memory of fellow crewmember John Sweeney who passed away suddenly over the winter. The valuable donation will be used to provide both partial and full scholarships for young sailors who would otherwise not have
an opportunity to participate in the club and sailing program for kids.

started in 1886 and run continuously ever since. On average the club
provides sailing and racing lessons to over 200 young sailors each summer. All flag officers are elected by the Jr. members and is run by kids for kids.

A Board of Directors oversees the operation of the sailing program and
keeps an eye on the facility during the off season. Pleon is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
