Police Make OUI Arrest After Witness Reports Weaving Vehicle

Tuesday, May 12

At 8:39 a.m., a woman reported a “really weird man” going up and down Bayview Road “looking around.” She reported that his van was “full of junk” and he was “staring at her” as he went by. She said she was “freaked out.”

At 10:18 a.m., a caller reported losing necklaces at the school track last week.

At 11:09 a.m., a woman reported that she lost her gold watch sometime in the past two weeks.

At 1:51 p.m., a caller wanted to speak with an officer about footprints she saw outside her apartment. A language barrier inhibited this report.

At 2:06 p.m., a man reported that he received a scam phone call during which he was offered 100 pills for $1.50 per day.

At 3:05 p.m., a man reported that he had lost his black leather wallet.

At 3:14 p.m., a man reported losing his cellphone.

At 8:10 p.m., Swampscott Police reached out to Marblehead PD in an attempt to locate the husband of a woman who did not know where she was and had thrown up on herself outside a restaurant in Swampscott. Swampscott PD eventually located the husband who canceled a call for a taxi as he was en route to pick up his wife for a date.

At 9:24 p.m., a caller reported that was behind a car at Gatchell’s Park and the driver was “weaving in and out of the lanes.” The caller followed the car to the causeway and then pulled off at Devereux Beach. Police stopped the vehicle at Ocean and Wallace and placed Guilherme F. Vasconcelos, 24, of Marblehead under arrest . Vasconcelos was charged with OUI drugs, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and unlicensed operation.
