Presenting Session 2: Women Finding Your Voice In the Workplace

On Wednesday, April 18 at 7 p.m., at Abbot Public Library in the Reading Room on the main floor, “3 Voices” will host Session #2 of WOMEN: FINDING YOUR VOICE focusing on women speaking confidently and presenting their ideas with authority in the workplace.

This second session in the interactive series is titled “Women: Finding Your Voice At The Table – Lessons From The Conference Room.” Featured guest speakers Tina Giarla, a rising young professional, and Kathryn McKinnon, business consultant and coach, will share lessons learned, advice and tips for speaking in a business setting.

Speech and voice professional Betty Lautner will offer tips on how to speak with conviction. Judy Gates will provide a vignette of a business woman in history.

This series is open to women and men, high school students through senior citizens.

The idea for this series came from conversations among the founders of “3 Voices,” local residents Judy Gates, Betty Lautner and Jessica Barnett, about the many issues facing women today: being urged to run for office, learning to say NO in the #MeToo movement, and helping girls and women of all ages gain confidence to add their voices and ideas to public discussions.

In future programs, experts in their fields will help women learn how to claim their voice in the home and in the community, how to overcome shyness or fear and much more. Suggestions for future programs and speakers are always welcome.

The series is presented by “3 Voices” and is co-sponsored by Abbot Public Library. Each session is free and open to the public. Refreshments and conversation will follow the program.
