Rangers Win 2010 Raimo League Championship
A six-run third inning propelled the Rangers over the Red Sox in the Marblehead Youth Baseball Raimo League Championship on June 19 at Seaside Park.
It was a battle between the top two teams in the regular season as the Rangers (13-1) faced off against the Red Sox (8-5) for the Raimo League Championship at Seaside Park on June 19. The Rangers capped off an amazing season with a victory, defeating the Red Sox 14-4.
In the first, Dan Peters led off with a single to right field and was advanced to second by Michael Femia's sacrifice bunt. Ted Camp (3 for 4, 3 runs, RBI) moved Peters to third with a line drive single to left field and Will Vigneron (2 for 4, 2 RBI) knocked in the game's first run with an RBI fielder's choice. Jake Stead followed with a line drive RBI single to put the Rangers up 2-0.
After another scoreless inning by the Red Sox, the Rangers added two more runs to their lead. First, Ben Ryan drew a lead off walk and Jake Sundlie (2 for 2, 2 runs, RBI) batted an RBI double down the left field line. Then, Ben Avramidis scored Sundlie with an RBI single of his own as the Rangers opened their lead to 4-0.

In the third, the Red Sox responded with a single run as Jake Kramer worked a walk and then moved his way around the diamond with some aggressive base running.
The third inning saw the Rangers' lead extend out of the Red Sox reach, as back-to-back singles by Camp and Vigneron were followed by a sacrifice fly by Cam Mitchell, an RBI single by Ryan, and an RBI walk by John Sullivan -- putting the Rangers on top 10-1.

The teams fought back and forth for the rest of the game, with the Rangers scoring twice and the Red Sox scoring once in the fourth. In the fifth inning, the Rangers added two runs, which were answered by two runs from the Red Sox in the sixth; but all of this action was too late, as the Rangers had already secured themselves a comfortable lead, which ended with their 14-4 victory.
Both Camp and Vigneron pitched well for the Rangers. Camp only allowed a single run, striking out three batters in three innings on the mound. Vigneron pitched four innings giving up three runs while striking out eleven.
