Rip Current Warning Issued for Marblehead
Our "Five Things to Know" column provides essential daily information at a glance, including a warning from the National Weather Service about dangerous currents.

1. Weather Watch: The mushroom-growing weather continues, at least for the first part of the day. Rain, mainly before noon. Patchy fog before 9 a.m. High near 63. North wind 7 to 17 mph.
- Sunrise: 5:05 a.m.
- Low tide: 9:49 a.m.
- High tide: 4:09 p.m.
- Sunset: 8:22 p.m.
2. Rip Current Warning: The National Weather Service is warning swimmers that eastern-facing beaches will be dangerous today. Rip currents with surf height of up to five feet could cause even experienced swimmers to be unable to get back to land.
3. West Nile Virus Outlook: Do you worry about the West Nile Virus in Marblehead? After a particularly tough year for the West Nile virus in 2012, Massachusetts health officials are bracing for what could be another busy summer for the mosquito-borne illness. Click here for our full story.

4. About Being a Sophomore at MHS: We got in a nice blog post from Meredith Piela about her experience wrapping up her sophomore year at Marblehead High and looking forward to being an upperclassman next year.
5. "All You Need is Love": Saturday is supposed to bring a break from the rain. Celebrate the sunny day with a lineup of local musicians at this year's Beatle-mania benefit at the Unitarian church. This year's edition is called "All You Need is Love." 7 p.m. on Saturday, $20. Here are the details, including a list of who will be playing.
