Ronald McDonald House of Providence (www.rmhprovidence.org) today announced that the families they service are the fortunate recipients of a new Trouble The Dog (www.troublethedog.net) plush healing chair for children. Ronald McDonald House of Providence provides programs that directly improve the health and well-being of hospitalized children and their families. The programs allow families to spend additional time with a sick child, help ease financial burdens, provide a sense of normalcy and keep families together during times of medical crisis. It is a temporary home for families with hospitalized children conveniently located next to Women &Infants’, Bradley Hospital, Hasbro Children’s and Rhode Island Hospitals.
“Each year more than 250 families stay at Ronald McDonald House of Providence and an additional 2,111 enjoy the comforts of the Family Room,” said Michelle M. LePage, Director of Operations, Ronald McDonald House of Providence. “We are extremely grateful for the donation of the Trouble The Dog healing chair which will be enjoyed by the families that stay with us when they need medical treatment in nearby hospitals.”
“When I received the anonymous donation to build the Trouble The Dog healing chair, I was so grateful, knowing that I could bring a source of comfort for the families staying at Ronald McDonald House,” said Sheila Duncan, of Marblehead, creator of the Trouble The Dog character.
