Royals Win 2010 Babe Ruth Championship
Team defeats Diamondbacks 12-8 in championship game on June 19.
It took an outstanding effort in every aspect of the game for the Royals to find victory over the Diamondbacks 12-8 in the Marblehead Youth Baseball Babe Ruth League Championship on June 19 at Seaside field.
Brett Leblanc pitched four strong innings, striking out eight, for the Royals. He also contributed heavily at the plate, knocking a three-run homerun into right-field during the third inning.
In the fourth, Marblehead's Dylan Cressy made an amazing catch at shortstop, as he turned a high line drive into a double play by tagging the runner at second base, to put an end to a Diamondback rally.

Paul Himes and Finn McCoole led the Diamondback offense with two hits each, while Steven Farragher, Zack Kovner and Brad Clark all had RBI-doubles during the game.
Doyle Somerby and James Doughman also pitched for the Royals, helping the team hold off a late seventh-inning Diamondback rally.
