Amy Gold, Associate Head of School at The Rashi School in Dedham, will be the next Head of School at Cohen Hillel Academy, a Jewish day school in Marblehead. The school made the announcement to families of current CHA students this week.
Gold, who is fluent in Hebrew, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in History and French, and earned a Master’s degree in Education from Boston University in Teaching and Curriculum Design. Before assuming her present position at Rashi, she was the grade 3-5 Division Director. Previously, she was a math specialist as well as a third grade teacher.
“We are thrilled that Amy Gold will be our next head of school,” said Jerry Somers, chair of Cohen Hillel Academy’s Committee for Excellence, a group charged with finding a new head of school and, working with outside experts, analyzing the school’s workings in order to develop recommendations for change. “Amy has demonstrated strong leadership in her current position and we are convinced that she has the experience, commitment, energy and vision to fulfill Cohen Hillel’s aspirations for a school of even greater excellence,” he said.
