"School's Out For Summer"

Students stream out of school and into summer.

The doors burst open and thrilled students rushed out, many with arms raised in triumph.

"School's out," they cried.

Summer vacation has officially started for most Marblehead students. Marblehead Community Charter Public School finishes at noon tomorrow.

At the Glover School at 2:30 p.m., Zach Piersol -- wearing a purple sombrero handed out to graduating Glover third-graders--  said he'll miss gym, but that's about all.

"I'm looking forward to going to my grandma's and grandpa's in Montreal," he said. "They have a pool."

Second-grader Grace O'Meara is excited about going tubing with her family in Maine this summer. "I'll miss my friends and my old teacher," she said. "But I'm really excited."

MHS students wrapped up their finals today around noon. Village School students celebrated with a Field Day, as did kids at the Veterans Middle School. Veterans' graduating eighth-graders partied at a picnic at Seaside Park.
