Shriners Hospitals Receive Trouble the Dog Donation for Patients

Shriners Hospitals for Children - Boston receives a generous donation of Trouble the Dog plush toys from The Kennek Foundation

Shriners Hospitals for Children - Boston recently accepted another generous donation of Trouble the Dog plush toys and books from The Kennek Foundation for patients receiving care through the hospital.

According to a spokesperson for the hospital, Hillary Smith, MS, CCLS, Sr. Child Life Specialist, Shriners Hospitals for Children — Boston, “When children arrive at our hospital, they have often been through something very traumatic. Despite all the comfort techniques we can offer, sometimes nothing replaces the security of a soft, cuddly friend you can hold onto. Trouble [the Dog] is a wonderful companion to our patients during their medical journeys.”

Sheila Duncan of Marblehead, Founder of The Kennek Foundation, personally delivered the plush toys and books to the hospital, meeting with Rebecca Parmenter, Child Life Specialist, Shriners Hospitals for Children — Boston.
