Comella's Restaurant Applying the Finishing Touches

The trim is painted, the sign is up and Comella's Restaurant is just days away from opening for business on Atlantic Avenue in Marblehead.

For the last two months, local residents have watched as the small Italian restaurant took shape in the former Moran Studios space at the intersection of Commercial Street and Atlantic Avenue.

Comella's is a Boston-based restaurant chain that specializes in serving up signature homemade Italian meals to people heading home from work.

The eatery is expected to seat 12, but generate most of its business from meals-to-go.

The Zoning Board of Appeals granted approvals for the new business this past fall, changing the allowed use of the building back to a restaurant from retail.
