"Due to the hazardous conditions of the roads caused by quick snow accumulations, we ask you to stay off the roads unless necessary to allow for a safe clean-up effort to take place," Marblehead police said Friday morning. "Additionally, while we ask that you continue to avoid parking on street to allow for effective snow removal and clean-up, MPD will not be ticketing or towing vehicles in areas such as the downtown, unless your vehicle has created a public safety emergency by making the road impassable. Normal parking restrictions are still in place and will be enforced."

Any vehicle parked in a public way, including boats and trailers, will be subject to ticketing and towing.

Any towed vehicles can be retrieved by calling Marblehead police at 781-631-1212 or Bill's Towing at 978-744-9454.

Vehicles that were not claimed within 72 hours will be brought to Bill's Auto Clinic on Commercial Street in Salem.

The state is also closing all "Stop the Spread" coronavirus testing sites on Friday. The Salem walk=in site at St. Peter's Church and the drive-thru site at Salem High School will both be closed. Check back with Patch for updates throughout the first storm of 2022.
