St. Michael's Lobster Lunch during the Marblehead Festival of Arts
St. Michael's Heavenly Lobster Rolls & family-friendly food will again be served July 3-5, 11am - 3 pm with all proceeds for charities.
St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, Marblehead, Massachusetts will sponsor its popular Lobster Roll Luncheon as part of the 50th Marblehead Festival of Arts. The event is held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. July 3, 4, and 5, 2015 on the accessible Church lawn at the corner of Washington and Summer streets and features lobster rolls, family friendly food and soft drinks for visitors of all ages, plus bell ringing, tours, a free concert and the Festival mixed media exhibit. Staffed by a volunteer team of St. Michael’s parishioners, chaired by Linda Smidt and Kristin Carlson, the luncheon serves scores of local residents and Festival of Arts visitors each year. As it has since 1994, St. Michael’s Church will contribute all luncheon profits to North Shore charities and to its sister church, St. Thomas in Arcahaie, Haiti. In the past twenty-one years $253,000 has been distributed.
Organizations that have received Lobster Roll Luncheon support include My Brother’s Table, HAWC, Lifebridge, Esperanza Academy, Marblehead Counseling, Friends of the Abandoned Animals of Marblehead and the Marblehead Food Pantry. Among the programs inaugurated at St. Thomas’ Church in Haiti is a hot meal program for church school children.

In celebration of Independence Day, St. Michael’s will also ring its historic Paul Revere Bell. All are welcome to help ring the bell on Saturday, July 4th at noon and 6:30 PM.
On Sunday, July 5, 2015 at noon, Douglas Major will host his famous “Name That Tune quiz with a free organ recital. Hear works of Sousa, Gershwin, Joplin, and Copeland’s “Lincoln Portrait” narrated by Victor Wild, in remembrance of the 150th anniversary of the ending of the Civil War.

In 2014 St. Michael’s Church celebrated its 300th anniversary. Founded in 1714, it is the oldest Episcopal Church in New England still holding services in its original building. Come visit this historic structure, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 3, 4 & 5 from 11 AM to 3 PM.
