At 3:50 p.m., an employee reported a man left The Barnacle without paying his $64 tab. The caller was with the suspect, who was attempting to walk through private property and lose the caller. Police arrived on the scene and placed the suspect, a 54-year-old Lynn man, in protective custody.
At 4:40 p.m., a caller reported he had pulled over to assist a person just involved in a motor vehicle accident and the driver of the other vehicle “took off pretty quickly.” The caller reported the license plate number and a description of the other driver to police, who matched the license plate number to the caller’s description of the car. Police followed the other driver for a time, but lost him on Humphrey Street by Seaview Avenue. Then, at 10:26 p.m., a man reported to police that his wife’s vehicle had gone “missing” from the parking lot at the Swampscott Bertucci’s while she worked. Swampscott Police then listed the vehicle as stolen.
