Things to Do With The Kids After the Bell Rings

Here is what people are talking about, "About Town."

Looking for stuff for the kids to do after school in Marblehead? There are a plethora of things to do in our town at the Y, JCC, through the Park and Rec and at various spots downtown and around town. Whether your child likes to read, swim, knit, stretch, play sports or guitar, there are many options. Here's some ideas...

STRETCH
High schoolers are invited to attend a FREE Yoga and Meditation Class at the High School Wednesdays from 3:15-4:30 p.m. in Room C106. Bring your own yoga mat (if you have one), comfortable clothes and a water bottle. See Mrs. Murray, RN, with any questions.

KNIT
Once again I need to remind you of the great class for kids every Wednesday afternoon at Yarn Over Marblehead at 231 Washington Street where kids drop in for a couple of hours of knitting. Learn to knit, improve your knitting, relax and have fun! No reservation required. $5.00 per class. Materials not included.  Kids Drop In is geared for kids aged 8 and up.

WORK OUT
Did you know that the JCC will create a fitness/group exercise class for your tween, teen, young adult and their friends that include parts of the Group Exercise, Fitness and Aquatic Departments? The JCC  needs a minimum of five participants to create a class. For more information, please contact Maria Calla, Group Exercise Director at 781-631-8330 x134 or e-mail mcalla@jccns.com.

SWIM
Although I have not tried out the slide at the Y's pool, it looks pretty awesome. There's lots of swim programs to check out including Preschool Gym and Swim, Adaptive Swim Lessons, Spring Board Diving, Beginner's Synchronized Swim, Teen Aqua Zumba and Lifeguard Training.

GET A FLU SHOT
Village and Veterans School students are encouraged to get a flu shot on Tuesday, November 16 from 2:45-4:45 p.m. at the Village School.
