In 1950:
Re-Elected Selectmen Welcome Stacey; Appoint Officers: The organization session of the Selectmen in their Abbot Hall quarters last night was short and harmonious. Town Clerk William Bragdon opened the meeting by swearing in the new board, after the reelected members had welcomed the new Selectman, Donald Stacey. John A. Davis will serve as chairman.

New Hospital on Town Warrant: On article 41, Mr. Stevens moved that $359,000 be appropriated to build a new 25-bed hospital including equipment etc. that would be needed in addition to that now owned by the town at the Mary Alley Hospital. The money was proposed to be raised by a tax levy of $9,000 and the rest or $350,000 by an issue of bonds to be sold by the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectman.
Druggist Advertisement: Eaton Druggist on Atlantic Avenue took out a front-page advertisement for a sick room supply sale.

Edmonds Television Service: Located "on the Avenue" Edmonds Television Service ran an advertisement about color TV. "WHEN COLOR? TV is having enough trouble with its black and white transmissions. The really only successful color TV has been of laboratory experimental level, like the MIT experience conducted in the 30's with black and white. Then the war came along and pushed ahead experimental work on TV."
