Town Accepts New Ambulance: The new police ambulance, which was delivered here Friday by representatives of the Superior Funeral Coach Sales Corp. of Cambridge and at first suspected of being a demonstrator model by the selectmen, was finally accepted by the town fathers last night, after the distributor satisfactorily answered certain questions posed by the board regarding the condition of the vehicle.

St. Stephen's to Lay Cornerstone: At a meeting held Tuesday evening, final plans were made for the cornerstornelaying ceremony to be held this Sunday, Sept. 21, at 2:30 p.m. at the site of the new St. Stephen's Church.

School Board Decides on Wing for Senior High: The Marblehead School Committee, working overtime on the space problem confronting the local educational system at the senior and junior high school level, has arrived at a major decision regarding the expansion program it will present to voters at town meeting next March.

Gay Ninties Dance at Quarterdeck Yacht Club: The Quarterdeck Yacht Club will sponsor a 'Gay Ninties Dance' on Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Fo'Castle of the Hotel Rockmere from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. Gay costumes are in order but not necessary, for attendees. Prizes will be given for the most original, most comical and most authentic costumes. Refreshments wil be served.

Class Officers Elected at MHS: Elected last week were the following officers for the 1959 graduating class at Marblehead High School. Treasurer, Douglas Smith; Vice President, Pat Hurley; President, Peter Miles; Secretary, Barbara Kimball; Historian, Judy Rabin.

Sisterhood to Sponsor Benefit Bulb Sale: The Sisterhood of Temple Emanu-el will hold its third annual Bulb Sale tomorrow, between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., at the Golden Eagle Antique Store on Humphrey Street in Swampscott.

Reuben A. Eastwood Commisioned 1st Lt.: At a time when the United States Army is actually reducing its man power, Reuben Arthur Eastwood, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Arthur Eastwood of Marblehead, has been commissioned as a First Lieutenant because of his rare qualifications in psychology and Medical Administration. He will report for extended active duty at For Sam, Houston, Texas, in early October.
