The athletes -- who came from as far as New York City, Chicago and Virginia,  swam 1/8 of a mile in the JCC's beautiful indoor pool, cycled around Marblehead Neck for 10 miles, then ran 3.5 miles through Marblehead and Swampscott before arriving back at the finish line at the JCC.

There were plenty of stories of achievement today, including that of 11-year-old Maggie Barden of Swampscott, who won the 19-years and younger category with a time of 1-hour, 22-minutes.  This is her 2nd JCC Triathlon.

"She's been training at the JCC all her life," joked Maggie's mom. "She learned to swim here as a toddler and still competes at the JCC with the North Shore Swim Club."

For winner Kevin Reen, this is his 7th JCC Triathlon by the Sea and he can't wait until next year.

"It's such a gorgeous course. I love every minute of biking around Marblehead Neck.  It's a lot of fun."
