Spring is coming to Marblehead. Look upon the harbor and it is dotted with tulip bulbs. Over 2000 of them. There they sit swinging in the setting sun, calling out for spring.
Well, one bulb flourished. On April 12th one sprouted - our first sailboat.
Amazingly, on the same day as last year, when the Protocol burst forth on the seascape of Marblehead.

We love spring. Especially in our little seaside town. Born of the sea. Captured in cycles tides, seasons, and impressions of seagulls, lobsters and friends who ebb and flow with the seasons - knowing friends, who escaped to warmer climes, will soon return.
This first tulip hints a new vibrancy will return to town, as the electricity of summer will sweep over us, and the trials of winter will vanish as a memory.

I recall two conversations:
The first was a fall day: “OMG - can you believe it is going to be 40 today”
And the second, in April, was: “OMG - can you believe it is going to be 40 today”
Same temperature, different anticipations. Now how cool - or warm - is that?
But so much for my harbor tulip - soon there will be real tulips, and we will have Spring, and the dreams of what will happen this summer.
