Two Local Companies Help Children in Foster Care
Groom Construction & Jacqueline's Gourmet Cookies Present Gifts to Cape Ann Department of Children and Families

Sheila Duncan, left, co-creator of the children’s character, Trouble the Dog, delivered plush toy dogs and fresh baked cookies to children in foster care during the holidays, thanks to Groom Construction and Jacqueline’s Gourmet Cookies, both headquartered in Salem, MA. Groom Construction, celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, is a General Contractor specializing in residential, commercial, and retail construction. Jacqueline’s Gourmet Cookies makes decadent filled and cut-out cookies, rustic scones, and gourmet bars with high standards for excellence and taste.
The gifts were presented to Carla King, right, at Cape Ann Department of Children and Families (DCF), headquartered in Salem, to share with children under their care. Cape Ann DCF's mission is to ensure that children are able to grow and thrive in a nurturing home environment. There are hundreds of children who are separated from their homes and families during the holidays. Groom Construction and Jacqueline’s Gourmet Cookies stepped up to help these children, teaming with Sheila Duncan to coordinate the delivery to DCF, to provide local children with a source of needed comfort.
