Two iconic Marblehead businesses will get their moments in the spotlight Thursday when Made From America premieres on Great America Country TV.
Redd’s Pond Boatworks and The Barnacle Restaurant will be featured on the first episodes of the new show that follows Gabe Johnson, owner of a Seattle T-shirt company, as he explores small U.S. towns and the businesses ”that are part of the character of the community,” according to a press release. Johnson will then display the “identity of the business” on a T-shirt to help promote the businesses in retail stores nationally and online.

Doug Park, owner of Redd’s Pond Boatworks, said the show spent a couple of days at his shop last fall.
He said the crew was fun to work with, and he was glad for the opportunity to get the word out about the business he purchased from the founder in 2011.

Though he hasn’t seen the final cut of the show, Park said he expects it to showcase “just sort of the craftsman aspect of wooden boats in general. It’s me working with the customer to do this unique craft.”
Park said he and his wife plan to head to his parents’ house to watch the show Thursday evening as they don’t have cable in their home.
Made from America premieres on Great America Country TV (Comcast Ch. 279 or Verizon Ch. 723) at 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 30. The 9 p.m. episode will feature Redd’s Pond Boatworks, and the 9:30 p.m. episode will head to Marblehead’s The Barnacle Restaurant.
