U12 Magicians Win Without Winning
After a tie against the Lynn Wyoma Wildcats, the team still has yet to lose a game in the summer season.
It was an exciting game between the U12 Marblehead Magicians and the Lynn Wyoma Wildcats on Tuesday at Veterans Middle School. In the end, neither team came away with the win, as the game ended in a 5-5 tie.
It wasn't the outcome that Coach George Shapiro had been looking for, but it keeps open the possibility of an unbeaten season for his team.
"Both teams played really hard and we didn't win," said Shapiro, "but the tie really did feel like a win."

Marblehead took an early lead in the game on a two-RBI double from Taylor Bouchard in the first inning.
The score would remain at 2-0, behind solid pitching from Kaylyn Countie, until Lynn broke through in the fourth inning. The Wildcats put together three runs in the top of the fourth to take the lead and put pressure on the Magicians.

Marblehead responded quickly, tying the game at three in the fifth inning, after Emily Messinger rounded the bases to score.
Lynn took back the lead again in the sixth inning, scoring two more runs, but the Magicians would not give up, as they made a seventh-inning rally to tie the game at five.
The game would end with the score knotted at five runs apiece, due to night fall.
"Overall, it was a tremendous game," said Shapiro. "The way softball is supposed to be played."
The girls hope to keep their undefeated season rolling when they take on rival Swampscott July 19 at Veterans School.
