Uber Altercation, OUI, Kids Smoking Pot, Marblehead Police Log

MARBLEHEAD, MA — The following are excerpts from the Marblehead police log. Suspects are innocent unless convicted.

Fri., July 22

• 11:48 a.m. A woman driving on Harbor Avenue said a vehicle "blew a stop sign and nearly struck her."

Sat., July 23

• 12:22 a.m. There was a hit-and-run crash on Atlantic Avenue; the victim told police a woman backed into her, looked right at her, then drove off.
• 12:27 a.m. A anonymous caller on Treat Road reported 3-4 kids in a silver car smoking marijuana.
• 2:10 p.m. A kayak was found floating off the Marblehead coast.
• 3:25 p.m. A lifeguard found a needle on the beach Ocean Avenue.
• 3:30 p.m. Dianne Holland, 60, of Salem, was charged with OUI (liquor), driving with a suspended license, and receiving stolen property.
• 6:07 p.m. A person was found passed out on the beach on State Street.
• 7:17 p.m. A tree crashed down on a house on East Road.
• 7:20 p.m. A tree crashed down on a house on Mechanic Street.
• 8:06 p.m. An Uber driver and two passengers got into a verbal altercation on Mechanic Street.

Sun., July 24

• 12:34 a.m. A group of youths stole a Washington Street sign; the sign was recovered.
• 12:59 a.m. A loud party was broken up on Fox Run Lane.
