The event will take place at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church on April 29.

Friends and community members throughout Marblehead and beyond have stepped up to support Ben Farrar, the Marblehead High School senior who suffered a spinal cord injury in France on April 19.
On Wednesday evening, a candlelight vigil for Farrar will be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Marblehead. The vigil begins at 7:40 p.m.
“Lets [sic] send all this light of prayer, strength and healing to Ben in France,” reads a poster about the vigil posted on Facebook.

Organizers of the vigil plan to have two bins at the entrance of the church where participants can drop off cards and letters that will then be sent to Farrar has he is treated in a Nice, France hospital. You can also send virtual cards and letters to Farrar via a ”wall” set up at SupportBenFarrar.com.
Additionally, a GoFundMe page has been started to help offset the cost of Farrar’s treatment as well as other expenses the family is incurring during his care.

Farrar was injured on April 19 while on a trip with school friends in Cannes, France. He unknowingly dived into shallow water and sustained a spinal cord injury. Doctors in France are working to stabilize Farrar so he can be transferred to Massachusetts General Hospital for further care, according to updates on the Ben Farrar’s Status Facebook page.
