Warrant For June 25 Prop 2 1/2 Override Vote Is Available
Our "Five Things to Know Today" column brings you essential daily information at a glance, including the town's release of the exact language you'll see when you vote on the Prop 2 1/2 override on June 25.

1. Weather Watch: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before noon. Patchy fog between 7 a.m. and noon. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 66. Light and variable wind becoming southeast 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
- Sunrise: 5:15 a.m.
- High tide: 9:21 a.m.
- Low tide: 3:25 p.m.
- Sunset: 8:05 p.m.
2. Warrant for Prop 2 1/2 Overrides Available: The town has released the language you'll see on the warrants when you vote in the June 25 special election. I've also attached the warrant to this post as a PDF. Interestingly, the warrants do not say the exact amounts of tax dollars the town wants to collect beyond the Proposition 2 1/2 limits (which cap government spending growth at 2.5 percent per year.)
3. Help Place U.S. Flags on Veterans' Graves: As part of the town's Memorial Day remembrances, on Saturday members of the VFW will be placing flags on the graves of veterans. If you'd like to help, or want to pick up a flag for the grave of a veteran you knew, here's how.
