What's Open, Closed in Marblehead for the July 4 Weekend
Remember, July 3 is a federal holiday this year.

Saturday is Independence Day, and chances are you’ve got plans for the weekend. Make sure your propane tank is filled, you’ve got some sparklers and there are enough buns and beer.
Take a look at what’s open and closed on July 4 AND keep in mind that July 3 is a federal holiday this year. That means banks, the Mary Alley Municipal Building and Abbot Hall and the Abbot Public Library are closed on Friday, July 3. Marblehead’s municipal offices at the Mary Alley Muncipal Building and Abbot Hall will have adjusted hours on Thursday, July 2, of 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

- Retail stores: Open at owner’s discretion.
- Liquor stores: Open.
- Supermarkets: Open.
- Convenience stores: Open.
- Taverns, bars: Open.
- Banks: Closed.
- Libraries: Closed (Abbot Public Library will be closed July 3-5; it will be open on Friday, July 3 for the film festival events only)
- Stock market: Closed, July 3
- Municipal, state, federal offices: Closed.
- Mail: Post offices closed; express delivery only.
- MBTA: Subways, buses, trackless trolleys, and commuter rail on Sunday schedule. For more information, call 617-222-3200.
