City Offices: Marblehead City Offices will be closed on Christmas, Thursday, Dec. 25.

Post Offices: Post Offices will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 25. Most post offices close around noon on Christmas Eve.

Trash collection: Trash will not be collected in Marblehead on Thursday, Dec. 25 or Thursday, Jan. 1. Trash collection will move ahead one day due to the holiday.

Banks: Most banks close early on Christmas Eve. Banks are closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Restaurants and Bars: Most restaurants and bars are closed on Christmas, but if you’re willing to make the trek to Boston, click here for a list of places you can go.

Grocery Stores: Most grocery stores close early on Christmas Eve and remain closed Christmas Day. 24-hour pharmacies like CVS and Rite-Aid may be open.

Schools: Marblehead Schools close Dec. 24 to Jan. 2 for Winter Break.
