Wintry Forecast Cancels All Marblehead After School Events

Schools will be dismissed at the regularly scheduled time Monday with the rain forecast to change to ice and snow.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — A swath of wintry weather forecast for Monday afternoon caused the cancellation of all afternoon and evening activities at Marblehead Public Schools.

All after-school extracurricular events, sports and in-person meetings were canceled or postponed, including games and practices. Groups and teams were told they may meet via Zoom if they wish.

The YMCA after-school programs are also canceled for the day.

The potentially most severe snowstorm of the 2022-23 winter will be seen across the state by Monday afternoon, according to forecasts, as rain turns to sleet and then all snow that could be heavy at times.
