1 Injured In Stabbing At Marlborough's Memorial Beach

A 19-year-old man has been charged with assault and possession of drugs, Marlborough police reported.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A person was stabbed over the weekend during an altercation at Memorial Beach, police are reporting.

Around 3 p.m. Saturday, several people were sitting in a car parked at the beach. Suddenly, three people approached and smashed the rear window of the car, police said.

When the passengers in the car ran away, one victim was hit in the head with a blunt object. A second person was stabbed in the leg when a knife was thrown, police said.

The three suspects ran from the scene, but police caught up to them later. Two of the suspects were juveniles. The third, Devyn Mackerer, 19, of Hosmer Street, was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, vandalizing property, conspiracy and possession of a class C drug, according to Marlborough police.
