MARLBOROUGH, MA — A 14-year-old boy was arrested on Wednesday after crashing a stolen sports utility into two parked cars before fleeing the scene, Marlborough police reported on Wednesday. The teen led police on a short foot chase after crashing the vehicle before he was apprehended.
Police say the boy was driving a Jeep Compass on West Main St. around 10 a.m. when an officer ran the license plate number and determined the vehicle to be stolen. The officer then attempted to pull the vehicle over before the boy kept driving. The teenager then crashed the Jeep into two parked cars, causing minor damage, and fled, according to Sgt. Zac Attaway.
Police are not identifying the boy since he is a juvenile. He was released to a guardian after being arrested, Attaway said. Police do not know when the vehicle was stolen but determined that the Jeep belonged to a Lawrence resident.
