2 Arrested for Distributing Heroin and Cocaine in Marlborough After Long-Term Investigation

Marlborough police's investigations unit has been digging in to the distribution of drugs in the city.

MARLBOROUGH, MA—In August, the Marlborough Police Investigations Unit focused an investigation on the distribution of heroin in Marlborough.

As part of the investigation, detectives and patrol officers stopped a vehicle on Sept. 28 at approximately 5:20 p.m. on Bolton Street.

Before they stopped the car, detectives developed probable cause that that people inside the vehicle- Scott Martin and Sarah Holm-were in the process of picking a large amount of heroin for re-distribution, said police. Martin and Holm had been one of the targets of the investigation. At the time of the stop, Holm was operating the vehicle and Martin was the front passenger; the vehicle is registered to Holm.

During e stop, Martin and Holm were removed from the vehicle and a larger bag containing numerous smaller bags of heroin was on Martin. Also located on Martin were 5 mini zip-lock bags that contained a white powder that was consistent with cocaine. Police also found a pipe commonly used to smoke heroin. Both the heroin and the cocaine field tested positive for the respective substances and Martin and Holm were placed under arrest.

Martin had been convicted of possession of heroin and based upon the quantity of heroin found on his person during this incident, he is charged with: Trafficking Heroin 18-36 grams, Possession with the intent to Distribute a Class A Substance(Heroin), Possession of a Class A subsequent offense(Heroin), Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class B Substance(Cocaine), Possession of a Class B Substance(Cocaine) subsequent offense and Conspiracy.

Holm is charged with Trafficking Heroin 18-36 grams, Possession with the intent to Distribute Class A Substance(Heroin), Possession of a Class A substance (Heroin), Possession with the intent to Distribute a Class B Substance(Cocaine), Possession of a Class B Substance(Cocaine) and Conspiracy.

Both individuals were held without bail and arraigned on Sept. 29.
