This year's Grand Marshal, Matt Sargent, is being honored for his many efforts to preserve the history of our veterans.
There are over 55 entries in the parade, including the Middlesex County Fife and Drums, the 85eme Regiment de Saintonge and the Concord Minutemen bringing our history alive. Impressive and bold are the Acton-Boxborough Regional High School Colonial Marching Band and the UMass Lowell Marching Band. Highlighted this year will be the Marlborough Public Library and their Foundation for their work in designing and building our new library. Well known favorites are The Shamrocks semi-pro football team accompanied by Flashback. Returning this year is the GFWC Marlborough Junior Women's Club and Marlborough Youth Baseball and Youth Football teams. The Aleppo Shriners of Wilmington are bringing their full parade contingent of bands, cars, trucks, and scooters. Six new surprise entries round out this year's parade.
“A special thanks to this year’s sponsors, who enable the parade director and committee members to plan a special line up to include old traditions and new entertainment for all to enjoy. Our parade guarantees excitement and fun, and it’s a great way to wind down summer with family and friends,” said Mayor Arthur Vigeant.
Special thanks goes to the Marlborough High School cheer team for providing banner carriers. The banners they carry recognize the many generous sponsors of the parade, including Patriot Ambulance, St. Mary's Credit Union, and Murphy Insurance Agency.
