3 Finalists Vie For Principal Position At Kane Elementary School
Finalists are being interviewed for principal of Kane Elementary School.

MARLBOROUGH, MA—Four finalists for the Francis J. Kane Elementary School principal position have been announced, said Maureen Greulich, superintendent of Marlborough Public Schools. The finalists are Varsha Desai, Kalliope Pantazopoulos and John Quinn.
The Kane Principal Search Committee finished a thorough review of applications and a round of interviews to select candidates who visited Kane Elementary School on April 7. Candidates spoke to groups of students, staff and parents in forums and additional interviews took place with administration.
"The District extends deep appreciation to the Kane Principal Search Committee members as well as all the students, staff, and administration who participated in forums and interviews and provided feedback for consideration in selection of the next principal at Kane Elementary School," said the release.

Marlborough Public Schools provided the following biographies of the finalist candidates:
Desai currently serves as Principal of the John F. Kennedy Elementary School in the Blackstone-Millville School District. Prior to her experience in this District, she held the position of principal in the North Andover School District and teacher in the Shrewsbury Public Schools. She has more than 14 years in public education ranging from teaching at the Preschool through grade 6 level in the area of math and science and administration. Desai has earned a Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology from the University of Virginia, Master of Science from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Major in Occupational Therapy, and a Master of Elementary Education from Lesley College.

Pantazopoulos currently serves as the assistant principal at the Charles Jaworek Elementary School in the Marlborough Public School District, a position she has held for two years. Pantazopoulos has worked in the Marlborough District elementary schools for the last 15 years. She started in the district teaching ESL, Kindergarten and 1st Grade and worked as the Title 1 After School Program Coordinator at Jaworek Elementary School. She also completed her Assistant Principal Internship and taught Kindergarten at Richer Elementary School and served as an Assistant Principal at the 1LT Charles W. Whitcomb School.
Pantazopoulos earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, Interdisciplinary in Visual/Creative Arts at Framingham State University and completed a Master of Education degree at Cambridge College.
Quinn currently serves as the principal at Roosevelt Avenue Elementary School in the North Attleborough School District, a position he has held for 11 years. Prior to that he served in the Southborough School District as a Principal and Assistant Principal for six years and Thorpe School in Danvers for three years. He has four years of experience teaching elementary students before going into administration. Quinn earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Springfield College and Master of Science degree in Educational Administration from the University of Massachusetts at Boston.
The Marlborough Public School District anticipates announcing the new Kane principal appointment in the next two weeks.
